Hundreds of students and employers generated heavy traffic along the corridor in the Laurie Auditorium on Wednesday for Trinity's Spring Career Fair.
Around 40 companies from across the state, including police departments, military branches, and computer science companies, set up tables, displaying brochures, information sheets and lots of goodies bearing company logos.
Job hunting students, donned business suits and dresses and looking sharp, stopped by and had mini- interview-like conversions with company representatives.
According to Katie Ramirez of the Career Services office at Trinity, 175-200 students attended the fair on Wednesday, on par with last year's turnout.
The Career Fair has managed to have employers from a wide range of companies, allowing students of almost all disciplines to be able to find a potential employer.
“I think the fair works well," said Carolyn Young, a junior in Biology. "I’m able to start building relationships for the future early, which is a big plus. There’s a little bias towards business and technology based fields, but other fields are definitely represented.”
Employers, likewise, welcomed this event to meet Trinity students. “We see this as a great opportunity to start building relationships early," said Officer Maria Gonzales, who ran the table of Dallas Police Department. "Trinity students have a reputation as being great people and great people usually makes great officers.”
The career fair is held once each semester to help graduating students get a head start on job hunting.
